BIO DELIRIA

DELIRIA: musical group of Heavy / Thrash Metal, composed by Stiven Cortés (Lead Guitar / Vocals), Ana Lucía Aponte (Drumms), Javier Restrepo (Bass) Julián Cárdenas (Lead Guitar), Albeiro Yara (musical producer) and Juan Sepúlveda Vallejo (Designer and Community Manager), thanks heartfelt to all those who have had a hand in our evolution. Since the creation of the first song until today has been a long road and not so easy to get around. Many events, festivals, performances, new friends and family have joined our history, THANK YOU ALL.

DELIRIA born in Armenia, Quindio, Colombia, at 2005 In the hands of two childhood friends (Stiven Cortes and Daniel Nova) with the name "Exterminans" (Photo 1) Being a project for a few months. At that time some compositions that are interpreted today such as "Seeds of Evil" or "Between Nightmares" were created.

At the same time the genre was defined as a merger between Heavy and Thrash Metal influenced by the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) and the bands that emerged from the Bay Area (United States of America) in the early 80s 's.

At the end of this time Daniel Nova decided to pursue military life and Stiven took the reins of the group alone. The first thing I had to think about was renamed; had to make it more flashy, so he decided to replace the name by "DeliriA" (Photo 2): A pun of ultremens delirium and Lyric with which prints a sense of demential loudness at the songs since these will be persecuted by people who hear them and can not be able to escape of the sound. He also created a logo that sums up the letters in the manner of symbol (Photo 3).

After creating these new elements, Stiven was ready to search for musicians.

In mid-2008, a pupil of stiven (Daniel Guarín) agreed to be the rhythm guitarist in DeliriA. A couple of months later Garzón Paulo recruited on vocals, Paul Diaz on drums and finally to Daniel Valencia on bass. Although Shortly after Daniel V step lead guitar  Daniel G to take the bass and Stiven rhythm guitar. It was time to be a much more real band.

The influences of these musicians made that gender tended a little towards the Power Metal but that was not the initial gender. This training lasted about a year. For personal issues disintegrated leaving only to Stiven and Daniel V
(Photo 4).

At a later stage DeliriA rose from the ashes to enter a more competitive environment in the region, suppressing orientation Power Metal and heading straight for the pure Thrash Metal, with the help of Luis Pacheco and Sebastián Santofimio on bass and the battery respectively.

As there was no initiative to get a vocalist the songs was alternated between Stiven and Daniel. This training got several fruits such as recording two songs ("I'm a Thrasher" and "Between Nightmares") and interdepartmental level projection, stepping scenarios nearby cities and neighboring departments. this alignment started in late 2009 and ended in late 2010, some traveling difficulties did not allow training to continue.

Former guitarist Daniel Valencia to withdraw from the group requested the material he had done in the group making an agreement to take a song and not touch the other songs. So the song "I'm a Thrasher" happened to be his and the group no longer play this song. After this was only in DeliriA Stiven (Photo 5).

In late 2010 call was opened in the city of Armenia to achieve musicians. That was how Angela Barragán joined on drums, Jaime Alberto Ospina on bass and Jan Pierre Valderrama on lead guitar. At this point in history Stiven assumed only the vocals and the band returned to his roots; a combination of Heavy and Thrash Metal. Covers of the bands that gave rise to the creation of the group, echoed in the body of DeliriA and family friends ever increasing.

Since one of the ideas of DeliriA is not allow musicians to take part in other bands, as far as possible, as this can lead to conflict if there is a show of the two bands, Angela took the decision to withdraw. As fate in those days, in early 2011, Ana Lucía Aponte had contact with Stiven and decided join to Deliria. But right after Jan Pierre and Jaime Ospina left the group. (Photo 6).

Soon with his first disc in hands, Demo "Cerebral Labyrinth" (Photo 7), Angelo Valencia Herrera joined as rhythm guitarist and Cristian Velandia as bassist . Continuing the creative process, designing a strategy to regain old fans, the Tribute to Metallica "30 Years, And Alive" was created  , by which the group was sharing the stage again at the interdepartmental level (Photo 8). This alignment was maintained for almost two years, touring places like Filandia, Montenegro, Circassia, Dos Quebradas, and many others. This alignment finally disintegrated in late 2013 for work reasons and lack of time available for rehearsals and concerts. Leaving only Ana Lucia and  Stiven.

A couple of personal friends of the band took over the group as a bassist and guitarist (Felipe Benavides and Mauricio Hincapie respectively) for a few months for a couple of events that were scheduled. At the end of these dates the band again start your search process as a result of giving musicians the current lineup:

Ana Lucía Aponte – Drumms

Javier Restrepo – Bass / Vocals

Julián Cárdenas – Lead Guitar

Stiven Cortés – Lead Guitar  / Vocals        (Photo 9).

Which aims to complete its consolidation in the regional and national market. Record their first full length album entitled "Between Nightmares" to continue generating  culture and unifying people loving loud sounds... but intelligents.

To be continued ...

"The future is uncertain, but the way we have come assures us that long  DeliriA remains at this level, and with you, our listeners and readers, we will can achieve."

Stiven Cortés.
